We invite you to participate in the event “Rebuilding Ukraine: Modular Housing Hackathon” as part of European Design Upgrade 3.0!

European Design Upgrade 3.0 is an international project aimed at discovering and implementing effective solutions and technologies in the design of modular housing for people who have lost their homes.

The hackathon aims to solve the urgent problem of forced displacement as a result of natural disasters and conflicts by engaging specialists from various fields: designers, architects, engineers, businessmen, urban planners, and government officials.

During the hackathon, participants will be able to develop realistic concepts that will provide practical and innovative responses to urgent housing needs in extreme situations. For example:

  • creation of modular housing structures that can be easily installed, deconstructed and transported;
  • researching modular structures that can be adapted to different family sizes and demographics;
  • exploring the possibility of integrating the newest technologies, such as 3D printing, robotics and automation, into the construction process to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

The prize fund of the Hackathon is €5000, which will be divided among the three winning teams. The best concepts will receive additional support for further development, as well as the opportunity to present their results to a global audience at the final event.
