On May 9, the GoLOCAL team joined the celebration of Europe Day – an event that became a platform for open dialogue on Ukraine’s path toward EU membership and brought together government representatives, international partners, and civil society.
Key highlights of the event:
The official opening featured remarks by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Taras Kachka, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová, and First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniienko.
A major highlight of the program was the presentation of the art installation “To Go Through…” by Mykhailo Deyak, which through the language of art conveyed both the complexity and the irreversibility of Ukraine’s transformations.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in quizzes relevant to the theme, explored the fair and interactive zones, fostering informal exchange of experience and ideas.
The central event of the day was the discussion “An Honest Conversation About EU Accession,” where speakers addressed the real challenges and opportunities of the European integration process.
The event concluded with a screening of the film “You Are the Universe,” presented by the State Film Agency of Ukraine – a powerful symbol of Ukraine’s creative potential within the European context.
We sincerely thank the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, the European Union, the Ukraine2EU Programme, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, and the State Film Agency of Ukraine for the invitation and cooperation.
For the GoLOCAL team, participation in such events is a source of inspiration for new projects, an opportunity to connect with people driving systemic change, and a way to explore solutions for community development and the implementation of European standards in Ukraine
