This initiative brought together representatives of civil society, public institutions, and international partners around a shared goal — strengthening the role of the civic sector in Ukraine’s EU accession process.
The event was supported by the European Union and the governments of Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, and Poland. We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners and the UKRAINE2EU programme team for the opportunity to contribute to systemic transformation.
As part of the event, the GoLOCAL team presented the project “Ukraine to EU: Just Transition Initiative – Advancing EU Standards in Coal Regions of Ukraine.”
The project concept was developed in collaboration with our partner, the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine — a leading organization that unites coal communities across the country to advocate for their interests and promote sustainable development.
The initiative aims to support a just transition of coal regions in line with EU policies on climate neutrality, the green transition, and the protection of local communities.
Meaningful change is made possible through effective cooperation between government, communities, and international partners. Such coordination drives economic processes, lays the foundation for long-term development, and supports Ukraine’s integration into the European space.
We are grateful to all partners for their trust and readiness to move forward together.
