December 13, 2016, the Kyiv Regional State Administration held a seminar on “Municipal and regional development.” Igor Komendо, co-founder of the NGO «GoLOCAL» was invited to talk about the organisation’s activities in the promotion of regional development.
During the meeting, Igor Komendo told about projects that NGO has implemented in Bila Tserkva and their results, as well as those projects that are currently being implemented in the city.
Mr Komendo shared his personal experience and the experience of the organisation on community development and investment attraction to the city development projects, stating: “The municipal and regional development are crucial in strengthening our country as helping to stabilise the economy as well as the gradual and efficient establishment of good governance in places.”
He also stressed that the key role of active communities in the changes that are already taking place and still have to happen for the prosperity of cities and regions of Ukraine. Every citizen involvement is essential in the processes of sustainable development, which is currently ongoing.
Director of Strategic Development Agency Bila Tserkva Atamanchuk Nazarii, Head of the Youth and Sports Department Volodymyr Stetsenko, Deputy Director of Economic Development and Trade Department of the Kyiv Regional State Administration Natalia Pogrebna and Director of the Kiev regional centre of tourism Kirill Voronin took part in the event.
In the end, all participants visited the document service “Gotovo” to get familiarised with the range of its services and operational processes. The group were impressed with the created infrastructure centre and use of European approaches in their work. We sincerely hope that such centres will open soon throughout Ukraine.
