NGO “GoLOCAL” was one of the participants in the development of “Bila Tserkva City Development Strategy 2025” and within the framework of the project “Bila Tserkva. Team of Change” contributed to the creation of the Agency for Strategic Development of Bila Tserkva. That’s why we were so pleased to participate in the discussion of development prospects of medium-sized businesses in the city. One of the priorities is the Strategy are SME development that will improve economic performance.
The discussion was joined not only by the businessmen but also by representatives of the City Council and the “Industrial Park “Bila Tserkva”. Under the Agency’s guidance, the participants were seeking ways to consolidate efforts of the government, business and community to create an environment conducive for the development of small and medium enterprises.
Constructive dialogue between the government and business is a key to the synergy of all players for sustainable development. It was nice to see many people who are aware of this and are ready to engage in the dialogue. During his speech, Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Hmurych said: “Successful entrepreneurs are the backbone of any thriving town, and we are ready to assist businesses and address its problems.” Nazarii Atamanchuk said that the Agency could act as an effective communicator in the process of establishing such a dialogue.
The opportunities for entrepreneurs’ development already operating in the city were also mentioned. In particular, the “SMEs School”, which was launched with the support of our organisation and now, continues its operation. Lydia Pashchuk, Head of the School announced the fourth admission cycle to the School. During the study period businesspeople and people wishing to start a business, get knowledge and skills in organisation and development of their own business for free, as well as advice from qualified teachers. Oksana Sakharova project manager of the Agency for Strategic Development stressed the importance of social partnership. Her speech was supplemented by Sergiy Bocharov and Victor Sharavara local entrepreneurs who shared their own positive examples and their motivation to participate in social projects.
Andriy Brynzylo Director of “Industrial Park “Bila Tserkva” spoke about comprehensive solutions for production and the opportunities for joint investment. During the presentation, the local business owners were asking many questions. We believe it indicates the relevance of the project for the economic development of the region.
